Warner Park – A Nature Lovers Paradise

The Community Recreation Center
Located on the northeast side of Madison, the Community Recreation Center is a state-of-the-art public facility that provides recreation, education, and cultural programs and events. The facility includes a gymnasium, a fully equipped exercise room, game rooms, and dry and wet craft rooms.
The facility also features beautiful community rooms for weddings, banquets, and retirement parties, as well as a meeting room. In addition, the Community Room has two walls of windows overlooking the stunning Warner Park and Lagoon.
The design was developed through an intensive series of community involvement meetings. KEE, along with JR Inc and BRS Architects, worked closely with the neighborhood to evolve the desired program. The design is meant to engage the park gently, minimizing the impact of this sizable building on the natural setting. A project to expand the facility is currently in the planning stages. The expansion will provide space for additional program areas, system upgrades, accessibility, health and safety compliance modifications, workspace improvements, and architectural enhancements.
The Community Room
The Community Recreation Center at Warner Park is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose public facility for community recreation and cultural activities. The building contains a gymnasium, fully equipped exercise room, game room, and dry and wet craft rooms as well as meeting rooms.
It is also home to the Madison Mallards, a professional baseball team that plays in the Northwoods League. The stadium, which is nicknamed “Duck Pond”, has a long and rich baseball history that includes serving as the home field for the Madison East High School, Madison La Follette High School, and other teams through the years.
KEE Architecture has worked closely with the city of Madison and the Northside community to help evolve the desired program and design for this large facility, which is tucked into a natural setting. The Lagoon
Located on Madison’s northeast side by Lake Mendota, Warner Park is a nature lover’s paradise. Its paved paths make it easy to explore on foot or on wheels, whether you want to stroll through the lagoon, marsh, or shoreline.
The lagoon is a place where you can see wildlife and enjoy the peace of the water. You may even be able to spot an eagle or heron. It is a great place for bird-watching, fishing, and picnicking.
Warner Park is also home to the Northwoods League Madison Mallards baseball team. Their stadium, dubbed the “Duck Pond,” was built in 1982 and can seat 6,750 fans. Bordering the Mallards’ stadium is an off-leash dog park and a field for Ultimate Frisbee. In addition, the park has several other recreation fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a DIY bicycle station.
The Dog Park
This park is a favorite spot for dog owners who want their pets to be off-leash. It features a large, fenced-in area for dogs and plenty of room to run. There are also wooded trails and lake access for dogs who enjoy swimming.
The park hosts social events like charity walks and runs and community festivals, while its colorful shelter is known for fun reunions and parties. It also hosts the Madison Mallards baseball team and is a popular boating spot.
Whether you’re looking for a place to cool down or to spend some time outdoors, Warner Park is the perfect destination. It’s home to many sports facilities, including a baseball field, basketball court, football field, tennis courts, and volleyball courts. It’s also the site of a public beach and lagoon, which is great for families with kids. A permit is required to use this park.
