In addition, you’ll also find reviews about the location of the gazebo and how well it keeps children safe. See This Article.

Nichelle Nichols

The winnequah Park Gazebs are the perfect venue for the acclaimed singer-actress’ farewell tour. Nichols, whose autobiography was published in 1994, is a prolific performer, having starred in over 20 films and television series. Her acclaimed role as Peggy Fair in the 1993 drama Mannix was initially offered to her during the final season of Star Trek. But Roddenberry refused to release Nichols from her contract. After the show ended, Nichols appeared in smaller film and television roles. She briefly starred as a secretary in Doctor, You’ve Got to Be Kidding!, and she played Dorienda in the blaxploitation film, Truck Turner.

The home was a source of pride for Nichols, who bought the property for just $12,000 in 1982 and meticulously planned every aspect of the home, including the roses in the garden. The home has since been the center of a tense legal battle between her daughter over her finances. The elder Nichols, now in her late seventies, has been battling dementia for several years.

The Winnequah Park area is bustling with year-round activities, including the annual Fourth of July Community Festival, fishing in the lagoon, and ice-skating in the winter. Winnequah Park also houses a community center and pool, as well as a separate Draft Master Plan. While Winnequah Park is mostly flat, it has three separate sections. Each section features various recreational opportunities and includes the Monona Youth Dream Park, a park that was constructed through a community effort in 1997. This large park features a castle-like gazebo, a concession building, and restrooms.

Is it a good place for kids to play?

Despite the name, this Lagoon-front community park is an excellent spot for kids to play. There are several picnic areas, as well as a large, castle-shaped children’s play structure. It’s a wonderful spot to bring the whole family together for some quality family time. Parents will love the playground area for kids, as well as the picnic tables and barbecues.

For families with young children, Winnequah Park Gazebo Nichol has many advantages. Its wooden structure is well-maintained and makes for a great place for kids to play. It also offers a scenic lagoon and playing fields. The nearby Monona public library and swimming pool make it a convenient choice for a family outing.

There are plenty of other options for family entertainment, too. There’s the Monona Bait and Ice Cream across from Schluter Beach, which is open daily from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Parents will appreciate the gazebo and grill boxes, as well as the picnic area, restrooms, and plenty of tables.
