Madison Window Cleaning:
Our new add-on service for hard, non-porous surfaces!
There are many things each of us can do to help prevent and slow the spread germs and illnesses, specifically Coronavirus. One of the most important is proper hand washing. Secondly, is to clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces and objects in your home and office. This can seem like an overwhelming chore and we want to let you know we are here to help.
The CDC defines cleaning as the removal of germs, dirt and impurities from surfaces. Sanitizing involves the use of disinfectants to kill pathogens that are found on many of life’s surfaces. We use an EPA registered disinfectant that is safe for use on most all hard-nonporous surfaces.

High touch areas may include:
- Doorknobs
- Light switches
- Handrails
- Drawer pulls
- Elevator buttons
- Pull or Push Bars
- Appliances
- Faucets
- Toilet handles
- Desks
- Counters
- Tables
It is recommended that other items such as cellphones, desk phones, tablets, iPads, touchscreens, laptops, keyboards and the like are cleaned daily by the individual using them. Please check with the manufacturers recommendations as many require specialized cleaners, usually alcohol based, that have been formulated and designed for electronic items.
Homeowners
Please review the CDC guidelines for Cleaning and Disinfection for Households.
Business Owners
Please review the BOMA International Provides Guidance for Preparing Commercial Buildings for Re-Entry Amid COVID-19.
It is also important to clean glass surfaces as a virus can last as long as four days on glass, depending on location and temperature, according to a separate study by the Journal of Hospital Infection published in January. That report charted the persistence of the SARS-CoV virus, which is like the current virus causing COVID-19. Many of the items listed above as well as mirrors and inside glass doors can also support the virus. The same disinfectant used for our high touch area cleaning is also added to our cleaning solution when we perform window cleaning.
This is how the reports calculate the survival rate of viruses, in hours, on non-disinfected surfaces:
