This trail is groomed for classic skiing when conditions are right. While snowshoeing isn’t permitted on the groomed trails, the park’s other sections have good snow cover.
It offers a public hunting area
Located just north of Door City, the Knowles Nelson Stewardship Fund recently acquired 160 acres of land in the Door Creek Wildlife Area. The land will be used to extend the Lower Yahara River Trail. This land features frontage on the lake and Door Creek. The property is also adjacent to other County-owned lands. Hunting and fishing will remain permitted on the land. However, hunters are reminded to use proper safety precautions and observe Wisconsin DNR hunting regulations when using the land.
