CamRock County Park Has a New Natural Playground
If you have ever wanted to experience a true wilderness in Wisconsin, you need to check out CamRock County Park. This park offers great recreational opportunities, including the Camrock trail. The trails run through the park’s three connected parks, which is a great place to bike, hike, or just play. The new natural playground is a special addition to the park that the whole family will love. If you’re planning a visit to CamRock, make sure to check out these tips.
Rockdale Mill Pond
If you are looking for an opportunity to fish, look no further than Rockdale Mill Pond in CamRock County Park. This 72-acre pond is home to a wide variety of fish, including Bluegill, Lake Sturgeon, and Largemouth Bass. The surrounding parklands also feature restored prairies and the Rockdale Brick Company, which is now a historic landmark. There are numerous activities and amenities available for those looking to enjoy the great outdoors.
The park is located on the eastern edge of Dane County, along Koshkonong Creek between Rockdale and Cambridge. It includes hiking trails and a natural playground made of wood. It also features a beer cave, which is on an abandoned railroad track. The beer cave, formerly a railroad station, has been relocated from the entrance to ensure a safe ride for cyclists and pedestrians. A fantastic read!
A brewery once operated in the area. The brewery was built in 1865 and consisted of three chambers, each about 40 feet deep. The deeper chamber collapsed during the 1900s, but the remaining chambers are still intact. Once the brewery closed, the cave was used as a warming house for ice skaters on the mill pond. The cave was used as a brewery until it became part of the Park in 1994.
Mountain bike trails
If you love to bike and live in Wisconsin, you can ride mountain bike trails in CamRock County Park. These trails are groomed every winter, and they offer a great opportunity to exercise while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The trails are divided into three different park zones. You can find picnic areas and playgrounds at the Camrock 3 shelter, which is located on Water Street in Cambridge. For even more outdoor activities, check out the CamRock 1 and Camrock 3 shelters.
The main trail, the Turn It Up, is 6.2 miles of singletrack. It has some technical sections and is an intermediate level. Other sections include the Stonefly, Woodchuck, Corkscrew, and Rattlesnake. The Turn It Up trail is one of the more technical sections and takes you through an old rock quarry. The terrain is often rocky and has loose tread, so be careful when riding on this trail.
If you are looking for more challenging terrain, you can find them in Devil’s Lake State Park. There are mountain bike trails for all levels of riders, and you can also ride with your dog. The trail has multiple sections, so you can find a suitable course for your riding style. And if you want to take it easy, you can bypass the more technical sections if you don’t have a lot of experience.
New natural playground
The Dane County Parks Division will oversee the installation of the new natural playground elements. The chosen play elements must be safe, durable and provide a wide variety of play. All materials and components must be ADA-compliant and the manufacturer must maintain adequate liability insurance. The new play elements will be installed under the supervision of the Parks Division and all work will be subject to inspection by the park department. If any issues arise, the provider is responsible for the costs associated with correction.
The CamRock County Park Shelter 2 Area is the site of a new natural playground. This playground is being installed in place of the existing wood structure, which was unsuitable for use as a playground. The new playground will include towers, tunnels, swings, and logs. The new play structure will encourage children to engage in non-scripted outdoor adventure play while fostering a closer connection with nature. The park’s construction team is collaborating with local community members and local businesses to complete the project on schedule.
The new playground at CamRock County Park is a great place for families with children of all ages. This park is an important staging area for mountain biking events in Wisconsin. There is also a peaceful Koshkonong Creek that runs through the park. The park’s trail system includes 28 recreational parks, as well as lands and corridors. Additionally, there are dog parks, picnic shelters, and a disc golf course. Browse next article!
