The City of Monona, WI, is working to revitalize the area around Ahuska Park to create a better waterfront environment. The city has been encroaching on the waterfront area for decades, annexing adjacent land to build a downtown core. However, the city has run out of space to expand. This has led to infill along Broadway Avenue and the waterfront. To improve the area, Monona should add a performance stage to the park. This would eliminate parking issues while creating an open lawn space and more opportunities for other events.
